This study goes into the details of planning during the building construction process, concentrating on shell construction or „Rohbau“. The need for this research arises from the importance of proper planning for a successful project. The main purpose is to find ways improving planning through using visual tools. We have focused on the core areas of planning in construction. To guide us, a detailed literature review is conducted. It educate us about essential terms or definitions and gives us a background layout. Crucial parts like allocating time, setting the proper order of tasks, making use of resources wisely, managing risk, maintaining quality, and communicating are highlighted. Then, a part of the planning process, particular to shell construction „Rohbau“ job scheduling, is chosen for further study and examination. Next, we explore visual tools which could help in planning. There are diagrams like BPMN, Gantt, PERT, CPM, or other ways of visual representation through CAD systems, BIM, Workflow Diagrams, and Mind Maps. Assessments are carried out about how helpful and useful these tools might be. After discussion and comparison, we explore what makes each of these tools special, what is required, and what each tool achieves. We look at the flexibility and adaptability of these processes and also weigh the pluses and minuses of using visual aids. In the end, we sum up the main ideas of the study. We end with thoughts on how artificial intelligence (AI) might soon play a big part in planning construction projects, possibly even taking over the whole planning process one day.      «
