In this thesis, a method for a computer aided automotive power net design and topology optimization is developed. For that purpose, a power net simulation is built and coupled with an optimization algorithm. As an optimization objective, a minimum weight topology and component dimensioning has to be identified, which is able to meet predefined voltage stability requirements. To solve the underlying problem, a particle swarm optimization algorithm is modified in order to process the optimization directly within its discrete solution space.
