- It has not been clearly established yet whether the epsilon2/epsilon3/epsilon4 polymorphism of the gene encoding apolipoprotein E is associated with myocardial infarction. We addressed this issue in a large case-control sample and found no statistically significant relationship between the epsilon2/epsilon3/epsilon4 polymorphism and myocardial infarction.
