Despite the use of instrumental methods for xenobiotics analyses, there are growing concerns regarding the different biological adverse effects of these compounds (additive, synergistic and. In the present work, the P450 Enzyme activity induction was used as end point for dioxin-like compounds screening in different relevant matrices (leachate-polluted groundwater and natural halogenated organic compounds) using micro-EROD bioassay. Furthermore the use of EROD Bioassay as a bio-monitoring tool of dioxin-like compounds in mother milk was investigated and compared with analytical data. Finally, P450 enzyme regulation in H4IIE cells was used for the metabolic activation of Bisphenol A as xenoestrogen model compound. This step was combined with recombinant yeast assay for the detection of the metabolites of this compound.
