The aim of this dissertation project is to support architects and planners by providing easy-to-use planning tools for administrative building projects in the international context. They should be especially useful in the conceptual phase, in laying the groundwork for further planning decisions. One focus is the interactive ClimateTool, which is based on a global climate database. At the press of a button the tool allows the building-specific factors solar radiation, temperature, humidity, wind and light to be analyzed for any given location. Secondly, the FacadeTool makes it possible to evaluate aspects relevant to energy and room climate, namely orientation, window surface ratio, sun protection concept, insulation and thermal mass. The tools are based on a parameter study using thermal simulations for a standard office. Quick comparability takes precedence over exact quantification of variants.
