In this thesis, a lighting equipment using a light emitting diode (LED) was developed. The aim was to use this technique for the measurement of velocity-fields near walls for the measurement of shearing stress. This thesis is the documentation of previous laboratory experiments. It begins speaking about technical specifications of the equip- ment. After that, the focus is on the experiment in its entirety. Finally, the quality of measurement is evaluated, given an outlook on the possible further use of this lighting equipment.
