This study compares the longitudinal flame dynamics of kerosene and natural gas combustion in a lean premixed atmospheric gas turbine combustor. Flame transfer functions (FTFs) are measured for two liquid fuel configurations with different degrees of premixing and compared to natural gas. The fuel type has little impact on the flame dynamics if fuel and air are fully premixed. The fully premixed FTFs are reproduced by a physically-motivated analytical FTF model. The partially premixed liquid fuel FTFs cannot be modeled, thus indicating that the mechanisms are different.
