This thesis analyses the influence of main process-specific design parameters of the Automated Fiber Placement layup process, fiber steering and convergence zones, on the part properties depending on the process chain. To investigate corresponding work hypotheses, characterization methods were developed, validated and applied. The results create comprehension on the influence of the parameters and give recommendations for the implementation of corresponding design guides for manufacturing engineering.
