This master's thesis examines the choice of award form as a decisive factor for the sustainable success of construction projects, in particular using the example of MTU Aero Engines AG. The paper deals with the awarding of contracts to individual contractors, the awarding of contracts to general contractors, the awarding of contracts to total contractors and some selected forms cooperative project management. The central research question is: How can different forms of contract award be evaluated and com pared in terms of their contribution to sustainable project success using a developed evaluation model? To answer this question, a combination of in-depth literature research and qualitative expert interviews was used. The results of these methods were incorporated into the development of a utility value analysis, which serves as a decision-making aid for building owners. The study shows that different forms of contract award offer specific advantages and disadvantages that can vary depending on the client's priorities. In this particular use case, it was found that the general contractor award is considered particularly suitable due to its advantages in the areas of cost certainty and coordination effort. The work emphasizes that the choice of award form is not solely responsible for the success of the project, but depends on numerous internal and external factors. The results provide a valuable basis for clients to make informed decisions and stimulate future research, which should include further projects and expert opinions in order to create a more com prehensive database.     «
