Zahn, 2015 introduced a tool that analyzes the solar irradiation on
building surfaces in a 3D city model. It computes the sun positions
over the course of one year and the resulting solar radiation values.
Since those radiation values depend on the weather conditions, they are
subsequently calibrated with satellite measurements of solar radiation
values in the past.
In this project, we unify and enhance this process. We refine the
calculation of the sun positions and integrate it into our system, instead
of outsourcing it to the database. Moreover, we simplify the calibration
mechanism, generalize the binding to the calibration data source and
subsequently extend the mechanism to include further data sources.
Then, we evaluate our results and provide and easily reusable evaluation
mechanism.
