Abstract:
The role of acoustic-perturbation in the laminar-turbulent transition of hypersonic flows is an important aspect of understanding the physical mechanisms of the transition process. This investigation uses Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS) in a re-entry scenario of an Apollo-like space capsule.
