Description:
The data contains road traffic simulations at the metropolitan area of Munich, using the agent-based transport model MATSim (Multi-agent Transport Simulation). Results are individual trips made by anonymous, synthetic travelers.
Method of data assessment:
The transport simulation is created based on a synthetic population of the metropolitan area of Munich for year 2011. Travel behavior replicates observed patterns as reported by the household travel survey Mobilität in Deutschland of 2008 (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, 2010). The model is not calibrated and do not intend to replicate the real traffic conditions in the study area. Technical remarks:
The simulations represent the same scenario but they use various subsample sizes (1%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 50% and 100% of the synthetic population). Capacities are scaled down proportionally to the subsample size. Different model runs are made with different number of iterations (from 50 to 500 iterations) and with two different types of network: all roads (fine network) and major roads only (coarse network).
