A double crystal-type monochromator has been installed at the ANTARES facility at FRM II, Munich, close to the collimator where the beam size is still only a few centimetres. Using this new set-up, it is now possible to perform high-resolution monochromatic neutron imaging in a wavelength range from 2.7 to 6.5 A˚ with a wavelength resolution Dl/l of 4\textendash{}1%. Most of the Bragg edges of materials of interest for neutron radiography lie in this wavelength region. Exposure times in the order of 300 s per radiograph are feasible with this new set-up.
