- Obesity and associated comorbidities are a global health burden. In this context, recruitment and activation of brown and brown-like (brite) adipocytes are attractive treatment strategies. The development of successful therapeutic tools relies on understanding the basic biology of the target cells. Here, the functional phenotype and metabolic properties of brite and brown adipocytes were analyzed to provide new insights into the thermogenic capacity and functional characteristics of these cells.

- Adipositas und damit verbundene Komorbiditäten sind ein globales Gesundheitsproblem. In diesem Zusammenhang stellt die Rekrutierung und Aktivierung von braunen und braun ähnlichen (brite) Adipozyten eine attraktive Behandlungsstrategie dar.
