This thesis includes three independent topics that are all dealing with aerosols. The first part is about quantification of diesel exhaust particles according to EU directive 566/2011. Thereby error sources were identified and optimization proposals outlined. Additionally, a bioaerosol chamber was established. This bioaerosol chamber enables the production of harmful aerosols in a controlled manner and in this way, allows better risk assessment. Furthermore, an innovative particle precipitator was constructed. With this device, it is possible to sample sensitive nanometer particles by diffusiophoresis softly and efficiently.
