Abstract:
This doctoral thesis sheds light on the emerging phenomenon of user integration in sustainability innovation by using different conceptual and theoretical approaches to analyze it. The three essays included in this thesis (1) examine user integration through an institutional theory lens, (2) outline its effects on sustainability innovation in incumbent firms, and (3) highlight the role of cooperatives and cooperative networks in this context.
