Abstract:
Two main factors have been implicated in the mechanism underlying the pathogenesis of acquired aplastic anemia: environmental factors and genetic susceptibility. Individuals vary in their ability to metabolize several DNA-damaging agents due to polymorphisms of biotransforming enzymes.
