Abstract:
OBJECTIVES: We sought to test the hypothesis that cytokines would be expressed in the myocardium of infants with congenital cardiac defects and to identify the signaling pathways involved. BACKGROUND: Mechanical stress upregulates pro-inflammatory cytokines in the myocardium.
