Coastal altimetry has achieved important milestones in the recent years. The new Delay-Doppler altimeters, such as Cryosat-2, and the availability of reprocessed standard altimetry dataset, such as the Adaptive Leading Edge Subwaveform (ALES) retracked dataset, are increasing the quality and the quantity of sea level retrievals in coastal areas.
