Abstract:
Smif reguliert als Co-Faktor von Smad4 die TGFβ vermittelte Genexpression. Mit der Identifizierung mehrerer Phosphorylierungsstellen in Smif stellte sich die Frage nach deren funktioneller Relevanz. In dieser Dissertation konnte gezeigt werden, dass die Funktion von Smif durch Phosphorylierung reguliert wird. Smif integriert so unterschiedliche extrinsische und intrinsische Signale in die TGFβ Signalkaskade.
Translated abstract:
The Smad4 interacting factor Smif regulates the expression of TGFβ target genes. Identification of different phosphorylation sites in the Smif protein raises the question about their functional relevance. Within this thesis it was shown that the phosphorylation of Smif regulates its function as a co-factor and integrates different extrinsic and intrinsic signals into the TGFβ signaling.
