Abstract:: Users rely on pseudonymous identities in the form of addresses in blockchain networks. Similar to the Domain Name System, novel applications map domains to these addresses but face bootstrapping and domain squatting issues. As an alternative, we propose using established domain names by leveraging Public Key Infrastructures. We include existing naming services in our analysis and evaluate strengths and limitations. Our approach seeks to improve user experience and security in blockchains.

Ähnlich dem Domain Name System, mappen neue Anwendungen Domains zu Adressen, haben aber Probleme mit Adoption und Domainsquatting. Wir schlagen die Nutzung von Public Key Infrastrukturen vor, um die Nutzung von etablierten Domains zu ermöglichen. Unsere Analyse umfasst bestehende Namensdienste und bewertet Stärken und Schwächen. Unser Ansatz zielt darauf ab, die Benutzerfreundlichkeit und Sicherheit in Blockchains zu verbessern.
