The basic idea of the CubeSat developers was to decrease and simplify the development of satellites by standardization of structure and eventually electronics on board. This idea shall now be widened to include standardized simulation software for the design process. To do so a short demand study was conducted to identify needs and feasibility for standardized simulation tools for the CubeSat design. The result shows a strong demand for the Electric Power System and the Magnetic Attitude Control System. After this the physical and mathematical models are presented, which are used for the simulation tool. For the analysis of the numerical results a visualization module is added to the software, to support the design team in charge. At the end of the paper some areas of application are shown, where the use of the simulation tool brings advantages to the developers of CubeSats.
