Abstract:
We introduce a three-dimensional finite element approach for the simulation of hyperelastic mesoscopic biophysical structures in shear-thinning flow. To take the interaction and contact of mesoscopic structures into account, we combine a macroscopic contact formulation with a finite element formulation of interaction potentials. Application focuses currently on the simulation of the production process of novel spider silk materials for drug delivery.
