Free revealing describes the continually growing practice of companies who release results of their innovation processes to the public rather than patenting them or keeping them secret. In the course of this work, using the example of corporate OSS engagement, it will be shown how this practice can be carried out by companies both effectively and efficiently. For this, potential advantages and disadvantages are evaluated from the viewpoint of top management and company employees to understand how this practice diffuses within the corporation, and who is likely to support it. Simultaneously, it will be shown how corporate processes can be ideally designed to increase the odds of success of free revealing.     «

Free revealing bezeichnet eine sich immer weiter verbreitende Unternehmenspraxis, bei der Unternehmen Ergebnisse ihres Innovationsprozesses freigeben, anstatt sie durch Patente oder Geheimhaltung zu schützen. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird am Beispiel kommerziellen Open Source Software Engagements gezeigt, wie diese Praxis effektiv und effizient eingesetzt werden kann.
