Getrieben vom anhaltend hohen Luftverkehrswachstum und dem zunehmenden Stellenwert des Umweltschutzes sehen sich Flughäfen in heutiger Zeit immer häufiger mit dem Thema Schadstoffemissionen konfrontiert. Als Ort des Zusammentreffens einer Vielzahl von Akteuren, müssen Flughafenbetreiber die verschiedenen Emissionsquellen und die Anteile der Akteure identifizieren. Mithilfe der in dieser Arbeit entwickelten Methodik und der dazugehörigen Modelllandschaft erhalten Flughäfen ein strategisches Instrument für nachhaltiges zukunftsorientiertes Handeln. Ein detailliertes Emissionsberechnungsmodell und eine klare Strategie zur Ableitung von Schadstoffreduktionsmaßnahmen erlauben ihnen dem örtlichen Handlungsbedarf zur Verbesserung der lokalen Luftqualität zu begegnen.     «

Driven by continued strong growth in air traffic and the growing importance of environmental protection, airports are increasingly confronted with issues concerning local air quality. Airports are places of action for all air traffic stakeholders. Therefore airport operators must identify the different sources of emissions and the individual shares of all stakeholders. With the methodology and the associated toolset developed in this study, airports obtain a strategic tool for sustainable future-oriented action. A detailed emission calculation model and a clear strategy for the definition of emission reduction measures allow them to meet the local need for action concerning local air quality.     «
