Several template structures for N-methylated cyclic peptides have been synthesized to understand the influence of N-methylations in comparison to proline; on the structure of cyclic hexapeptides and to investigate the influence of side chains on N-methylated amino acids in cyclic peptides. Additionally, a library of N-methylated cyclic hexapeptides for the CXCR4 receptor has been synthesized.
For the purification of the large protein FVIII a small peptidomimetic affinity ligand has been developed and investigated for its biological properties. An efficient enantioselective synthesis of condensed and aromatic-ring-substituted tyrosine derivatives has been developed, too.
Finally, highly active and selective peptidomimetics for the a5b1 integrin have been synthesized and applied for surface coating via an anchor functionality or click reaction.
