This master thesis analyses the development of the new district “Domagkpark” in the north of Munich as a model for sustainable mobility in living areas. Based on an empirical study, precisely a survey developed by the author of this thesis, the needs for mobility and the acceptance of new mobility concepts of future residents in this area is evaluated. The first chapter introduces the district “Domagkpark” and the basic design for the mobility plan for Domagkpark is explained, divided in modules. Hereinafter, the development of the household survey is described and the data of the survey is analyzed. This part discusses the demographic structure of the future residents and compares the present as well as planned use of vehicles with regards to the utilization of capacity. Further on, different purposes for the utilization of vehicles are explored and analyzed, for example the use for commuting to the workplace or grocery shopping. Afterwards, the evaluation addresses the user experience and the planned use of new mobility concepts, in particular car sharing and bike sharing or the flexible use of parking space. Also, it determines whether children, age, car stocking or modal split has an impact on the acceptance of new forms of mobility. The last module of the survey compares present and prospective members in car sharing and bike sharing organizations and the differences between households organized in cooperative building associations (Baugenossenschaft) and building joint ventures (Bauherrengemeinschaft) with regard to their mobility behavior. The next chapter concludes the results of the analysis sorted by the modules of the mobility planning. The results are extrapolated to the statistical population; problems and possible solutions are discussed and qualitative survey elements are included. Last, the outlook discusses possible future research projects, for example in-depth interviews with residents or a repetition of a household survey. Overall, this master thesis collects an extensive data basis that can be useful for further planning of mobility concepts and the upcoming accompanying research.      «
