Moisture measurements of construction material provide important information for well directed construction work. Within the scope of this thesis, dielectric measurement methods in the radio frequency region are investigated. Measurements of different construction materials are carried out in the frequency range from 2 GHz to 5 GHz using a specially developed ultra-wideband antenna. The measurement results can be well described by established models. It can be shown that it is necessary to know the construction material in order to perform accurate moisture measurements. For the conception of a cheap handheld moisture measurement system, the application of a pseudo noise radar system is investigated theoretically and experimentally.
