Diese Dissertation beschäftigt sich mit der Synthese und katalytischen Anwendung der metallorganischen Verbindung Methyltrioxorhenium(VII) (MTO). Von besonderem Interesse ist dabei auch die Tauglichkeit der Nebenprodukte - den dimeren Methylrhenium(VI)-oxiden - als Oxidationskatalysatoren. Außerdem werden alternative Methyltransferreagenzien, die das hoch toxische Tetramethylzinn in der Synthese von MTO ersetzen sollen, in detaillierten Untersuchungen vorgestellt. Weiterhin erfolgt im Rahmen dieser Arbeit noch eine ausführliche Studie, die die katalytische Aktivität von MTO sowie ausgewählten MTO-Addukten mit dem Substrat Styrol und dessen Derivaten in Epoxidationsreaktionen vergleichend untersucht.
