Based on the model of retinal branch vein occlusion it has been demonstrated by using Retinal Vessel Analyzer if, and to what extent, diseased eyes react in a different way as non-hazardous eyes. The vaso constrictive effect of 100% O2-respiration on retinal vessels has been conclusively proven using 10 healthy test persons. In all, 16 patients with retinal branch vein occlusion took part in the study . One retinal artery as well as one retinal vein of the clinical diseased eye, as well as the corresponding vessels of the partnered eye, have been measured. On average, the venous vessels did not show any significant differences. The arterial branch vessel did, on average, not show any significant constriction of the diseased eyes. The overspending standard deviation of the partnered eyes does not allow a valid comparison. The vessel constriction of retinal arteries and veins of 100% O2-respiration cannot be specified based on our current results. A significant difference between clinical diseased and non-hazardous eyes does not appear.
