By means of cationic living polymerization of 2-oxazolines tailored polymer structures were synthesized, labeled with a fluorescent dye and studied with modern single molecule techniques. The application of fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) revealed results on the diffusion and association behavior of homopolymers, di- and triblock copolymers as well as statistical polymers in water. The lateral diffusion of lipopolymers in Langmuir monolayers was measured with wide-field single-molecule fluorescence imaging (SMI).
