Patient satisfaction and change in Health-Related Quality of Life HRQoL after ureteral stone therapy using URS vs. ESWL were compared. URS had the advantage in each case. The body-related quality of life (physical sum scale) was significantly higher after URS than after ESWL. In each case, the advantage was more pronounced in the age group >60 years. In addition to objectively measurable treatment results, the patient-related aspect (PROMs) is becoming increasingly important for the treatment decision.
