Abstract:
This dissertation addresses two biological challenges by employing machine learning methods on large-scale multi-omics data focusing specifically on 1) the identification of novel trans-regulatory elements modulating the promoter-proximal pausing of the Polymerase II during the transcription of protein-coding genes and 2) the identification of trans epistatic interactions as upstream trans-regulators of downstream trans target genes that underlie Coronary Artery Disease.

In der folgenden Dissertation wenden wir maschinellen Lernes auf groß angelegte Multi-Omic Daten an und fokussieren uns dabei auf 1) die Identifizierung neuer trans-regulatorischer Elemente, die die Promotor-proximale Pausierung der Polymerase II während der Transkription proteinkodierender Gene modulieren und 2) die Identifizierung von trans-epistatischen Wechselwirkungen als trans-Regulatoren von trans-Zielgenen, die der koronaren Herzkrankheit (KHK) zugrunde liegen.
