The present study investigated the extent of psychological distress, the desire for and use of psychosocial support in patients with gynecological malignancies. In addition, possible factors influencing the above were analyzed. For this purpose, the psychological distress screening performed at the outpatient clinic of the Department of Gynecology, Technical University of Munich, Germany, was evaluated. A decrease in distress was found with increasing age and duration of disease. Patients with progression of disease or desire for support were significantly more distressed.
