Starting a new venture as a team entails a crucial source of uncertainty for entrepreneurs–the relationships between team members. The purpose of my dissertation is to explore relational uncertainty within entrepreneurial teams and its consequences. Utilizing an inductive, qualitative approach, I developed a dynamic model of the emergence of relational uncertainty and the uncertainty management process. My dissertation contributes to research on entrepreneurship as well as human communication and social psychology.
