Abstract:
The quasi-two-dimensional Mott insulator α−RuCl3 is proximate to the sought-after Kitaev quantum spin liquid (QSL). In a layer of α−RuCl3 on graphene, the dominant Kitaev exchange is further enhanced by strain.
