The exterior design of modern vehicles is a central sales criterion. The focus is on striking, pronounced radii. Outer radii in the range of the sheet thickness can hardly be realized by car body drawing, nor can they be virtually secured according to the established simulation practice. Therefore, the thesis deals with the development of a simulation-based construction methodology for the production of body parts with striking radii. A central unique selling point of this method is the shaping and securing of the dimensional accuracy of the outer radii without embossing or cold forging. This leads to an increase of the press and tool lifetime as well as to an improved surface quality of the components by reducing glossy spots.
