Abstract:
The thesis provides two key results on the spatio-temporal organization of an enzymatic reaction. The first is a spatial allocation strategy to arrange the enzyme so as to maximize the reaction flux for a wide class of reaction-diffusion systems. The second is inspired by recent experiments showing that enzyme motion can be coupled to substrate concentrations. It shows that spontaneous pattern formation can select for the correct model of enzyme motion among the different ones proposed so far.

Zum einen eine Strategie zur räumlichen Anordnung der Enyzme, um den Reaktionsfluss für eine Vielzahl verschiedener Reaktions-Diffusionssysteme zu maximieren.
