Abstract:
Intestinal homeostasis requires a balanced interaction between the host innate immune system and the gut microbiota. A dysregulation of this interdependency can result in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), and this dysregulation is a key pathogenic factor during the development of colorectal cancer.
