Currently, bridge inspection has to be carried out with a fixed scope and schedule of examination, but without consideration of the current condition of the structures. With reliability based bridge inspection methods the current condition and future development of condition can be considered in planning the scope of inspection. Therefore probabilistic time-variant models are necessary. Exemplary, a model to determine the probability of failure in case of tendons sensitive to stress corrosion cracking is developed.
