This work focused on the synthesis and characterization of a novel nickel complex. After evaluation of the photophysical and electronic properties, the complex was utilized in photoredox catalytic reactions. A catalytic acitivity was observed in a light induced cyclization reaction of bromoalkylated indolederivatives. Furthermore, another aim was to modify the ligand scaffold and to synthesize bimetallic complexes. At the same time a photoredoxreaction was investigated which generates tetrahydroisoquinoline-based products.
