This study refers to the identification of new potential biomarkers in the battle against a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer, the triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Knowledge of the important role of the uPAR interactome in breast cancer lead to the idea of exploring plasminogen and integrin alpha v beta 3 as members of the uPAR interactome in TNBC. In summary, evidence is presented that especially integrin alpha v beta 3, may play an important role in a subgroup of TNBC patients and might serve as a potential novel predictive cancer biomarker or therapeutic target.      «

Triple-negativer Brustkrebs ist eine besonders aggressive Form des Brustkrebses. Das Wissen um die wichtige Rolle des uPA-Rezeptor-Interaktoms bei Brustkrebs führte dazu, Plasminogen und Integrin alpha v beta 3 als Mitglieder des uPA-Rezeptor-Interaktoms auch bei triple-negativem Brustkrebs zu erforschen. Zusammenfassend konnte gezeigt werden, dass insbesondere Integrin alpha v beta 3 eine wichtige Rolle in einer Untergruppe von triple-negativen Brustkrebspatientinnen spielen könnte und als potenzieller prädiktiver Krebsbiomarker oder therapeutischer Angriffspunkt dienen könnte.      «
