Precise information about low- and intermediate-level doses outside the primary treatment field during radiotherapy of cancer patients is crucial for a valid risk assessment regarding secondary malignancies. In this project, further developed combinations of several variance reduction techniques have been implemented in order to achieve a high precision in Monte- Carlo radiation transport simulations specifically for the calculation of in- and out-of-field photon and neutron dose distributions in an anthropomorphic phantom.
