We assessed differences in myocardial repolarisation after ventricular extrasystoles and developed a method to quantify postextrasystolic T-wave change on 30-Minute-resting-ECGs of 941 patients enruled after myocardial infarction. Changes associated with a better, resp. worse, outcome were identified and cut-off-values were selected. During follow-up for a mean of 4,9 years, patients were shown to be significantly more likely to die in case of pathological values for the developed parameter PEST.
