For the climatisation of buildings thermal storages can enhance the flexibility of systems in order to improve the use of regenerative energies and to increase the energy efficiency. The present dissertation deals with the theoretical and experimental investigation of latent heat storage in heat pump systems directly linked to the refrigeration cycle. For the integration of the storage, novel system concepts are developed and various storage applications are discussed regarding the operational characteristic of the heat pump system.
