The present thesis focusses on German farmers’ sales behaviour and their willingness to sell grassland biomass, placing particular emphasis on identifying determinants influencing such behaviour or intentions. Thereby, a distinction is made between personal, farm-related and market-related determinants, and specific statistical methods are used to assess their respective importance. In order to identify the relevant determinants, findings obtained from an analysis of scientific literature were verified and supplemented through pilot studies before being empirically evaluated by means of a questionnaire addressed to farmers in the main study.
