In this work the influence of dampers and burner staging on the stability margin of an annular combustor is investigated experimentally. The used quarter wave type resonators are optimized with regard to their damping performance. Different damper numbers and distributions are investigated. Also the dependance of the temperature distribution in the resonator cavities on the purge air and on the combustor dynamics is investigated. In the final step the positive impact of burner staging on the damping rates is assesed.
