Zudem wird untersucht, ob der Entwicklungsstand eines Landes gemäß UN Human Development Index (HDI) sowie die Zugehörigkeit zu einer Institutsgruppe Einfluss auf die Nachhaltigkeitsorientierung von Banken haben. Schlussfolgerungen für Banken, deren Kunden und die Bankenaufsicht/Politik sowie die Disziplin der Wirtschaftsethik runden die Betrachtungen ab.      «

The study shows from the perspective of banks, their customers and regulators, how far the banking sector has developed in terms of sustainability and social responsibility in Ghana, China, Argentina and Germany. The paper explores whether the stage of development of a country according to the UN Human Development Index (HDI) and the affiliation to an institutional group influence the orientation of its banks towards sustainability. Conclusions for banks, their customers and regulators/politics as well as the discipline of business ethics complete the explanations.     «
