Due to the increasing importance of holistic building assessments, interdisciplinary approaches as well as the development of new methods and tools is necessary. Against this background, an assessment method, which combines mathematical optimization and building performance simulation (BPS) has been developed. This method combines the advantages of both disciplines and enables simple, expandable, future-oriented as well as user-specific optimization of buildings from a thermal- energy and economic point of view.
