In this work a novel kind of signals with components being spread in spectrum, as well as a measurement method and algorithms for a radar system are proposed, which also allow for simultaneous communication. Beside the analytical analysis and verification, the substantial improvements in performance and efficiency achieved are confirmed by measurements. Furthermore a reduction of the complexity by more than an order of magnitude was realized so that parametric time of flight estimation was accomplished in real-time on a mobile vehicular radar system for the first time.
